Dreams: Listening to Soul
Dreams: Communicating with Higher Self
Connecting with Soul Self
Dreams are a primary means of connecting with Soul. One size does not fit all. We are each unique expressions of the One Creator. We are our gift to our self.
This is true with our intuition as well. Intuition is the communication of the Soul, the Spirit, with the Personality and the Mind which are both part of the Body, the physical. All this together is our Consciousness.
Dreams are another form of consciousness, with different rules. They seem real because they are. Dreams are real experiences for our mind and body.
Consciousness, Self Awareness, is life.
Dreams are the voice of Soul telling us what Soul wishes us to know. Our Soul Self may function as a separate consciousness from our conscious mind. Soul often speaks with us via promptings, urges to do this and not do that. In dreams, Soul gives us graphic pictures. Sometimes we hear words. Usually in our conscious state, it is feelings, nudges. We can, however, progress from hearing and seeing Soul's messages in dreams, to conversing with Soul in our conscious state. It can be helpful to verbalize our thoughts and speak with our Soul. Do not be frightened when Soul answers back.
Dreams are a major form of communication between Soul and Personality. Mind recalls the dream images and makes sense of them. The meaning of our dreams is unique to each of us but we share common symbols which may have similar interpretations.
Everything in our dreams relate to us. We play all the parts, all the roles. We are both masculine and feminine, parent and child, old and young, in and out of body. And we dream everything that happens to us before it occurs.
Dream Recall
The key to remembering our dreams is intent. If we promise to recall a dream for another, as when taking part in a dream circle ceremony, we often awake remembering what we dreamed. If we tell our self to remember our dream as we drift off to sleep, we increase our chances. Setting our intention to remember whatever Soul wishes us to know as we fall asleep is often key to doing so.
We improve recall by having a pad or recording device handy. The habit of recording dreams and being grateful improves our ability to remember. Both increase our understanding of dreams as does daily meditation and speaking with Soul Self. We increase our recall by understanding the purpose with gratitude for the benefits of dreams.
The main difficulty in recalling dream content is the shift in consciousness from sleeping to being awake, two vastly different modes of being. Which seems more real? Relaxing and shifting into the in-between state, not quite awake, yet not asleep may improve recall. Setting our intention to remember whatever Soul wishes us to know as well as deliberately raising our energy level as we fall asleep is also helpful. We can picture our self in a sphere of white/gold light. This may also improve dream content. Ability to recall dreams may change over time. For instance, the shifting of our consciousness can be much more pronounced as we become more physically present in the body than previously.
More than a few of us do not fully integrate with the body early in life. Some spend quite a bit of time outside or hovering. More than a few of us live in our mind. As we live more in our hearts, we shift more into the physical.
The time of recording of our dreams is not the time to analyze them, nor react to them emotionally. We usually dream without emotion. It is best to record and process dreams the same way.
Dream Content
The language of dreams is generally numbers, shapes, symbols, actions, colors, songs, faces, specific objects, odd phrases and scenes, as well as time of day, speeds, repetition, directions, angles, etc.
A good way to learn our dream language is to record them daily upon waking. Have a pen and notebook at hand and write whatever comes to mind. Simply attempting to write dreams down tells Soul we are paying attention and recalling becomes easier. Interpreting comes later. Just write the details as they are recalled or come to mind. Note date and time you are doing this.
Early dream cycles may be a rehash of what we've done during the day, sometimes not recalled. Later dreams during sleep time may be warnings, future events and activities as preparation for same.
Dreams may also be about specific items Soul wishes us to learn, such as a needed skill, how to solve a challenge, or where to find a misplaced object. Details which grab our attention are important because Soul may be trying to get us to pay more attention to some particular aspect of our life.
Colors matter.
They can be correlated with our chakras.
Green relates to the heart.
Red is about our roots, our basic emotions, groundedness, connection with Earth, sense of safety.
Light blue relates to our throat chakra, our decision making, etc.
Shades and hues, clarity and brightness are all key.
Motion
Rates of moving, whether standing still, crawling, walking, running, driving/ridng in a vehicle and what kind, flying, etc., are significant. A greater speed may indicate a higher vibration, frequency of an aspect, and how we are doing. Flying is generally better than walking. The direction we are moving in may indicate a flow of time or energy.
Repeating Aspects
Repetitiveness is a red flag. Moving in a circle may indicate karmic processing.
Does a certain number occur in multiple segments?
Is a phrase or object re-occuring?
Lucid Dreams
Are we aware in the dream that we are dreaming? This is called lucid dreaming. A possible way to know if we are dreaming that we are dreaming is to look at an object, look away, then look back at the object. Has it changed? If yes, we are awake in a dream. If not, we may or may not be dreaming.
E.g., I awoke from/in a dream, saw that the lamp on the wall to my right had been left on by my sister Pat. Considered getting up and turning it off. Shut my eyes, then re-opened them. Light was still on. Shut eyes again. Opened eyes. Light still on. Decided to go back to sleep.
Awoke a few hours later. Sun was now streaming through the window where the lamp had been. There is no lamp on that side of the bed. Sister Pat is in Florida. Not exactly lucid dreaming and test did not work but I was awake in a dream. A value of lucid dreaming is improving communication with Soul.
There is no linear time in dreams.
As part of a Dream Circle Ceremony, I dreamed of both the World Trade Center bombings several weeks prior to the first one in February, 1993. This dream sequence was the first in a series of dreams of murder and mayhem. The murderer was second in command. I played all roles. I placed the C4. When the 1st bombing happened, I knew there would be a 2nd as it was much less severe in effort and consequences than what I dreamed. On Sept. 11, 2001, I awoke at 3:30am in the middle of an operation getting people to not go to WTC. There were 50 cars in the garage, 5 cars outside. Went back to sleep, awoke 2 hours later at 5:30am. 50 cars were now outside the WTC garage, 5 remained in the garage. Translation: 5,000 might die, 50,000 would not. I got up and went to work, knowing it would be soon but not consciously realizing it would happen that morning. We can also receive major data dumps/downloads in dreams, especially if we have experience dealing with them in the awake state. These don't necessarily need to be written down immediately as we may be mining them for months and years. Noting date and time we dreamed may be beneficial.

Noting the Date and Time We Record Dreams May Be Beneficial.
Why record? Why note date and time of dreams?
Recording dreams lets us see patterns. It shows us areas that Soul is interested in. We may understand what we dream weeks and years later.
Since we are paying attention, Soul has a greater chance of us hearing a few significant words. Have you ever heard your name called in a dream? It wakes me right up.
Noting date and time is useful for correlating with other things such as astrological events, physical happenings, future possibilities, etc., where noticing patterns may increase our understanding of our environment and world.
Dream Circle Ceremony
The Dream Circle Ceremony is included in the Legacy conference and a session on Dreams is included in the Intuitive Imagination. Dreaming for someone else improves our ability to process and use our own dreams. The habit of paying attention to dreams may improve our ability to see when we are awake. Understanding the symbology in dreams may also improve recognition in the waking state.
