"Then and Now"
From the book Awakening and Applying Intuition and Psychic Ability,
A chapter by Maureen Kelley
Before:
When I began attending the intuition development conferences at the A.R.E., I had been studying the Edgar Cayce material for over 20 years, was a member of the A.R.E., meditating daily, recording my dreams, practicing various techniques, listening to the still, quiet voice within. From time to time, intuitive moments presented themselves.
Some days, I’d be all ready to leave for work, then start doing some task and say to myself “Why are you doing this? I’d complete the task, get in the car and drive off, to find I had missed an accident or serious delay by leaving a few minutes later.
When I needed a parking spot, I would announce out loud “Ok, need a parking spot.” And one usually appeared.
Food was selected by its energy in stores and restaurants.
The only time intuition was used regularly was when traveling.
Most often my intuitive use was hit-and-miss – not something to be relied on, but reserved for problem situations.
With Training:
With hands on training for a week at a time, beginning in 1990, however, I began to see what was reliable, and what could be improved with practice. Being focused, setting intent, asking better questions, being more relaxed, more confident all improved accuracy and reliability. I learned what I could do well and what was a real challenge.
And I learned a lot more about myself, how I did things and that I generally ignored feelings.
Some things learned:
Invisibility.
I routinely traveled through New York City being invisible without really knowing how I did this. One outstanding occurrence was in the 1970’s, when I entered a large office through its only entrance/exit. Taking my mail, I sat down at a long table on the far side of the room and began to read. As the room filled to about twenty people, two of my associates were arguing in Spanish. Tiring of the argument, I settled it in one sentence. In English. Silence.
“Where’d she come from?”
“She speaks Spanish!”
It seems no one had seen me sitting there. The voice connects. In the Legacy, we practice expanding and contracting our aura, paying attention to how it feels. I realized that contracting my aura was what made me invisible to others. Even though one may not believe in auras, the subconscious routinely sees and feels them, so when they are not there, nothing is consciously seen or felt.
Precognitive.
In the Legacy of 1993, I took part in the Dream Ceremony, dreaming for a woman who worked in D.C. Her question, we were to learn, was should she continue with the job she had. When we went around the circle, telling our dreams, we discovered that we all dreamed of murder, blood and mayhem. In my dream, I had laid a brown paper bag containing dark brown plastic bars in the entrance of a multi-story garage [knowing it was the World Trade Center (WTC)]. When describing this to my husband, he said ”C4”. We then went to a playground to avoid the police, escaping to New Jersey through one of two tunnels in a hillside. Then I was standing in the gutter, wearing sneakers, a white t-shirt and jeans. I was a murderer. There was a line of “suits” standing single file in the shadow of a four or five story factory like building, waiting for the red light to turn green. I took my place in line: second.
The woman’s job: theater ticket seller. She had been robbed and beaten on the job, requiring hospitalization several times.
In the days following, my dreams continued to be of murder and mayhem. In one dream, there was an explosion at the chemical company across the street from my house. Flames shot in the air. People came running, past my house and into my house. Then my house came down. Only one wall was left standing at the rear left side of the house in a very odd pattern.
When we arrived home from Virginia on February 26, 1993, around 12:30 pm, we were relieved to see the house still standing as we turned the corner, listening to a report of the World Trade Center bombing on the radio.
But they used fertilizer. I knew there would be another.
On Sept. 11, 2001, awoke at 3:30 am. There were 5 cars outside the garage [same one] and 50 cars still inside. Went back to sleep. Awoke at 5:30 am. Now, there were 50 cars outside and only 5 inside. Only 5,000 would die. I got up and prepared for work, glad we had managed to get so many to not be there. This increased my awareness that we are indeed one and there are NO secrets.
Clearing negative energies, cleansing places.
Prior to the intuitive conferences, we were unaware of the need for clearing negative energies, the value of doing this, and how to do it.
Before a conference, I erect a tent, in my mind, over the A.R.E. campus, fill it completely with white light, then drop the light as if it is rain throughout the campus whenever I feel the need. This is necessary because many conferees have had upsetting experiences. They are coming for answers and help, often in a distressed state. And some of the conference experience is also unsettling as they see better.
Quite a few of us do this, each in our own way, throughout the conference.
And this is also done on other occasions when it is beneficial.
On Feb. 25, 2008, three humans in the physical were joined by many more in spirit to cleanse the Jersey City site of the Pavonia Massacre of 1643, sending the spirits of women, children and old folks to the light and the warriors whose return they had been awaiting when they were attacked and killed. These were Christian M’hicans who had stayed behind when the men went on the late winter hunt with the non-Christian M’hicanuk families which gave Governor Kieft the opportunity to slay them. The energy shift was amazing.
